You can start your orchid collection in a variety of ways, by purchasing them from orchid vendors or at your local garden supply house, or by joining a local orchid society and participating in club raffles and silent auctions.   Another good way to get orchids is to attend orchid shows in your area, where many orchid dealers and growers come to show and sell species and hybrid orchids.   See our LINKS page for a selection of local and national orchid vendors.
