Volunteers needed to help COS and Pan Am Orchid Society mount donated orchids onto trees within the lovely Pinecrest Gardens (formerly the old Parrot Jungle)!

05/20/11 - REDLAND ORCHID FESTIVAL
The Redland International Orchid Festival is held in the beautiful Fruit & Spice Park, 24801 SW 187th Ave., Homestead, Florida. Featuring over 60 vendors of orchids, supplies and orchid-related items, growers from the US, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Jamaica, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand are represented this year.

06/25/11 - Conservation Project - Juvenile Justice Building, Downtown Miami (TBA)
We need volunteers to beautify the grounds of our juvenile justice courthouse - many live oaks need to be decorated with donated orchids!
07/18/11 - SPEAKER - Chuck McCartney - Endangered Epiphytic Orchids of South Florida
Chuck has written extensively about orchids for such publications as the AOS Bulletin (now Orchids), The Florida Orchidist, The Orchid Digest, England's Orchid Review, the Fairchild Tropical Garden Bulletin, and The Palmetto, the magazine of the Florida Native Plant Society.
